"You see what you know!" ~ Frank Stella
Learn to see how your camera sees. I think this is vital in the creative process.
All lenses are different. Each lens has a property...short focal length...long focal length...wide....macro...etc.
When you know how your lens "sees" things..you can then start seeing like your lens.
Things won't look the same to you..if you are looking at something as a fixed 50mm 1.8.
It will give you focus....and you will realize that too many things are cluttering your view if you look at it with a wider focal range.
Understand where the focus is. Then...it will only be innate response to click the shutter..when you see it.
Along with this..when you envision shots in your mind's eye....you will know exactly what tools you will need to create the vision.
Be learned in your equipment. Know what it does, how it works...you will then start SEEING things differently as if your creativity has been educated. All people have creativity.
When you know...you automatically SEE.
